Public Schools

The community of Adak has a rich history with education. At one time Adak was host to students from day-care age to the university level. Although times have changed our community access to education has adjusted.

Our primary and secondary education used to be part of its own school district the Adak Region School District. After NAF Adak Station closed the community joined the Aleutian Region School District. The city regularly receives records requests for NAF Adak Station residents and users of its services. However, in regards to Adak Region School District it is important to note that the district officially closed in June 1996. Its records and employee personnel files were sent, in accordance with state law, to the state archives. For records relating to employee or student records from the Adak Region School District please contact the State in writing at:
